How do you hold on to your gains while fasting? I've accepted that I won't be able to bulk so I might as well use it as an opportunity to cut.

I'm curious, does this rule account for muslims who live far from the equator where sunset and sunrise are much closer together? Where I live sunset is almost at 9pm and sunrise is at around 4am. not much time to eat
