Belt/No belt

Opinions on belts?
I feel like they more than anything limit my mobility, especially when doing high bar squats. Despite the increased abdominal pressure, I lift less with them.
But they sure are GOAT on deadlifts tho.
Are belts memes, or am I just not used to them?

That's why olympic weightlifters use tapered belts, frienderooni.
I don't know how a belt would limit your mobility in a squat
I love my belt, but I only use it when I'm moving fairly heavy weight (~75% of 1RM)
I just don't understand why would a belt help me, so I never use them
