I have the r3 and my buddy has the Chinese version and compared to my r3 it is complete shit. If you have the money get it but I started out with Squat stands until I hit 405 so if money is an issue and your not squatting 3-3.5 pl8 for reps don't even bother getting a rack.

Yeah but then you have to get adjustable pegs, drill holes for them, weld etc. Most people don't have the skill or tools for the job. If you do go for it, pretty rare tho

i built pic related and used for 8 mo before i moved.
only thing i didnt do was the wall anchors. I also added a bar rack on the outside which i didnt use all that much.
if you dont wall anchor, you will want to go through ever month or so and retighten all the bolts.
after build was complete, I dropped 2plate on it a few times just to test it. ezpz. would build again when i have space again

But seriously the steel for me to build one would cost more than that. Not to mention wearing out 30 hole saws trying to put all those holes for the safety catch positions.
I did consider it though. I'm a decent welder and got ahold of Rippetoes rack plans.
Also if i built one it would have been more difficult to find a lat attachment for it. Unless i built that too.
