SS and other frequent full body routines are the best way to Gainsville as a new lifter, period. Anyone that tries to tell you otherwise is a faggot.

You don't have to do SS specifically, anything similar is fine. (SL, ICF 5x5, etc). Don't be like of these faggots and waste your newbgains on 3x10 babby weight movements. Move some real iron and add weight to the bar every single day while you still can.

SS is for strength. Pick something else if you want to look like a body builder after a month or so.

Beginner routines suck because you workout so infrequently. Do a push/pull/fullbody routine over 4 days. It's 123x rather than 1x2x3xx

For a starter this should be good

day 1
preferred bench press 3-4x5
front raise 3x10
dips or triceps isolation 3x10

day 2
preferred barbell row 3-4x5
chin up 3x10
facepull 3x10

day 3
standing OHP 3-4x5
Deadlift 1x5
sumo DL 1x5
glute bridge 3x10

If you want to do squats just do them as the first exercise in your push workout
