I've started eating these little soy protein cubes
They're like 50% protein and I've started eating them at breakfast since they're surprisingly good and don't have that many carbs or calories for when I'm cutting
Someone told me that they increase estrogen levels though? Does anyone else eat these? Is this something I should be worried about?

Eat that soy OP enjoy your gains
>>
>>36866488
Are you fucking kidding me dude? Soy causing estrogen is common knowledge, you dumbass.

Let me hijack op's stupidity for a bit, are there organic protein shakes out there? I can buy hemp protein as well, is that cool?
>>
>>36866488
You're fucking autistic, enjoy infertility you cuck. Why do you think most asian men are effeminate? It's not the genetics its the fucking soy.
>>
>>36866488
its very well known that soy is estrogenic. there are plenty of studies out there.
>>
>>36866495
>soy "causing" estrogen

What does that even mean? Why are you implying that soy has the same effect on the human body as HRT? Why do you unironically believe that eating soy in any volume will turn you into a trap even if you lift?
>>
>>36866437
>Parents decide to be vegetarian
>have to eat soy for a few years while growing up before they decide that meat is good.
>develop gyno anyway

Coincidence? possibly. I still avoid soy though.
>>
>>36866502
Why are you so angry?
>>
Soy products contain phytoestrogens which are plant derived compounds. A lot of men avoid soy products because they think this will give them moobs and hormonal imbalances, but plant estrogens do not have this effect on humans. However, Mammalian estrogens which are found in meats and dairy are recognized by the body as hormones, in which case you will run a bigger risk of bitch tits.
Don't worry about it OP, eat soy and enjoy your gains.
>>
>>36866519
Milk and red meat are also estrogenic, no one bitches about those
>>
>>36866437
Enjoy your soy titties you fucking retard

Personal experience, for what it's worth. Been a vegan for 10 years (dietary, not ethical reasons). I drink soy milk every day and eat tofu pretty often. I have no man boobs and my cock works just fine. Spurt plenty of sperm for the wife, too. Voice is pretty deep (sang a higher baritone or whatever it's called in choir back in highschool). I'm in my late 20's now, and powerbuild. My favorite meals to add to a bean pasta is a vegan "meatball" with soy. 160 calories and 15g protein per serving in the "meatball" alone.

It's phytoestrogen in soy. Not the same thing as taking a hormone, no matter what ooga-booga scary people at men's health say. This is just /fit/ broscience 101 talking out the ass.

tl;dr: no, soy won't make you feminine or make you want to fuck men.

Fucking this.

It's just soy fearmongering from /fit/. Better get back to those 6-day-a-week brosplits too, you idiots.

Because it's probably his wish-fulfillment fantasy. Fuck, people shout at trappychan here all the time to eat more soy, when all it'll do is act as a plant-based protein source and not cause gyno at all. I'm starting to think that /fit/ is just 80% DYEL autists that just parrot the garbage they'd read in fitness tabloids while taking a shit.

Those are some lovely accredited, peer-reviewed journals you posted there for source.

I also loved "Men's Health" scientific piece on "TOP 10 SEX POSITIONS SHE'LL LOVE", and the classic analytical "WHICH TYPE OF WET-SHAVER ARE YOU?".

NOTE: There are few studies which show no major differences in testosterone levels after soy consumption. However they’re quite often sponsored by SOYJOY® or other large soy producers. Meaning that the results are of no use and often completely biased.

>posts three bullshit links about chemicals that have no relation to gyno followed by one from the Weston A. Price Foundation.

Weston A. PRICE?! R U HAVIN' A LAFF, M8?!

http://www.vegsource.com/articles2/fuhrman_dietary_myths.htm

Oh? Want a third-party source that talks up BOTH soy and farm-raised beef?

http://foodrevolution.org/blog/the-truth-about-soy/

Also, the Weston A. Price Foundation is an advocate for "holistic" dentistry, a strong signal for their quackery is even on Quackwatch:

http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/holisticdent.html

Cute how you think you can throw around a few links with ".gov" and think people don't know how to look into them or haven't seen the same tired anti-soy stuff used time and time again.
>>
I guess if you only eat it every now and then it is ok. If you gobble it every single day over a long time period you might see some effects caused by estrogen
>>
>>36866648

Then how about this one? Not even a hint of soy-lobbyists tainting it.

That's basically what you just said.

You haven't proven why soy is good for men as opposed to other sources of protein. Just focused on the credibility of sources and posting some soy shill sites rather than having a counter argument
>>
>>36866807
I'm saying it is an alternative that doesn't cause gyno or make you more feminine like the retards are saying itt.

Stop moving the goalposts of this discussion. This is about soy and if it causes gyno.

I'm saying that those who want to eat mean can and those who want to eat soy can. Gyno is not caused nor exacerbated by soy products.
>>
>>36866495
lol retard soy contains phytoestrogen not female hormone estrogen
>>
Phytoestrogen =/= estrogen
>>
I do wonder, perhaps the jews are trying to use google as a fight against us? Research that was once abundant and easy to find, sometimes at a later date is more difficult to find.

Whats a better way to crack consensus than to remove the many abundant sources that shaped your opinion?
>>
>>36867255
another food that is meant to be avoided like the plague is flax seed. I remember from a long time ago that this food had the highest estrogen causing rate from any food.
>>
I read this article a few weeks ago, I found it good and informative. It's slightly biased toward Soy being "bad for you" but it does point out a few conflicting studies and also positive health benefits of soy.

Also, according to the article, the reason soy increases your estrogen levels is because it features an estrogen "like" type hormone that will activate your body's receptors.
