since i was 20, almost 6 years now, though the second half less seriously

saw a friend of mine in his amateur fight. he wrecked an internal security guy. i've been wanting to do martial arts since i was a kid because of shitty vidya. i signed up the next day without thinking back. i also learned that reality kicks much harder than vidyas ever will.
I'm moving to Bangkok in a few days, I'd like to get into proper shape [better than my military days] before going into Muay Thai. Frankly I just want to learn some sort of martial art.
What's the going rate of a decent school in the Bangkok area these days?I'm mostly interested in self defense/cardio and not necessarily fighting in the ring.
