well the part about missing his scent is gay as fuck. Other that that it's just bro for life thing. I had my best bro that we would text all the time (and I mean ALL the time like non stop) having similar interests (mostly getting drunk) and we would go on holidays together without our women (I mean he would go without his gf, because I obviously never had any). A lot of our strong emotions and memories are intrinsically connected with scent.
For example smelling an ex's perfume would rile up negative emotions, while smelling your late grandpas cologne might bring up old memories of when he was alive.
You guys are just so close that his scent is intrinsically linked to positive emotions. You not gay, but it's probably better if you don't openly admit it.
