How do I increase my core strength?
do you compete in weighted crunch 1rep max competitions or something?

Work your core.

Standing compounds like Shoulder Press/Deadlifts/Squats and direct core work.
Gallon of bleach a day.

It's probably both doing it, but I get ab doms the day after I do OHP and weighted chin ups. Squat and deadlift days usually don't result in doms so there must be some good activation during those two.

Any direct core work you recommend, kinda been neglecting it and I know there are a shit ton of bullshit exercise designed for bored housewives that sometimes people think are actually decent.

heavy front squats are great for your core
hanging leg raises
pause deadlifts (pause directly off the floor)
SCOOBY
ROTISSERIE
CORE
plank it

>pause deadlifts
So getting the bar up then pausing before fully extending?

anywhere right below your knee. watch some on youtube.

There was a study passed around here of EMG measurements in various movements - the highest activation of ab rectus was for one of the subjects performing weighted chinups, although activation varied widely between individuals on the same exercise. I wouldn't be sure everyone has the same results you have.

Yeah, get the bar only 1-2 inches off the floor and hold there, then finish the rep.

obviously less weight than your normal deadlift, and fewer reps (sth like 6x4 is good)

I find that after a set of chinups my abs do hurt. I don't do weighted because I'm a dyel
I do remember a picture of rectus EMG comparing front/back squats with deadlifts and I think OHP, with front squats having the highest activation. I never think to save this shit but I should, it's good info
core is extremely important, lower back and abs give support to your upper body. This is especially important for tall people to prevent back snappages later in life. My dad has them now, and I make sure I do core in my routine and avoid putting lots of heavy weight on my back when I can avoid.

Squats, deadlifts, front squat, clean and jerk, snatch
>>36790125
ab wheel rollout
weighted decline crunches
hanging leg raises
you could do oblique work if you want but we want them aesthetics bruh
but do those 3 exercises in addition to your heavy compound movements

This, a good beginner option before you start lifting to reduce injuries and shit.
