Alcohol and its immediate effects

So... /fit/, i have body measurements today but i drank alcohol last night. We're talking about 2 pints of beer. Does alcohol immediately affect my waistline and whatnot by retaining water or the opposite? (or something like that)

Alcohol will dehydrate you a bit depending on what and how much you drink, but a couple pints of beer should have negligible effects, especially on your body measurements. Don't worry about it senpai desu familia, it's no biggie.

Cool, what about performance-wise? I don't think it'll affect my lifting but cardio is a whole other world.
I honestly dont understand the science of how alcohol adds to calories.
Your body cant use alcohol. It treats it as a toxin. It's not metabolized, its filtered and excreted. Shouldn't all this mean it costs calories to consume, not add to?
