Hey /fit/, I need your help. My son is 17 and is 5'2. He has never had a girlfriend that I was aware of and I believe that he thinks it is due to his height. I also believe that it is having a negative effect on his self-esteem. Because of this, I started pushing him to start working out. He is pretty thin, but has some muscle because he runs cross-country. He wants to try, but expressed that he doesn't know where to start. Could you give me some ideas on where to get him started?

I didn't. He eats very heartily. He had cancer when he was very young, but I don't think that should affect his height. Although some of his doctors are a little worried about how little he is growing

Talk to your doctor. Check his test levels and blood levels to see if he's a candidate for hgh. There's a chance his growth plates haven't shut. It'll give him at least like 5 to 6 inches and that's a world of difference.

If he doesn't know where to start, you should show him. If neither of you know, both of you should read the sticky. Especially if you aren't /fit/, you should do it for your son's sake. Be a source of motivation for him.
If nothing else, if you can't stand the notion of him/you doing the homework, pay a pt to draw up a routine and run through it with your kid.

It'll be harder for him but he will find a girl. He may have to lower his standards though as a 10/10 wouldn't find him attractive but at 6/10 would find him cute.
Hgh is legitimately his only hope now.
Doctors will be sympathetic considering his growth was obviously stunted by the cancer treatments.
They might try lh and fsh or something softer first, to see if it was puberty that was delayed. Puberty is started by cyclic release of gnrh. Cancer treatments can prevent this as far as I'm aware.
If your doc is against treatment, find another. Seriously.
