Im training core for football so i'd saw the best core ones would be planks, deadbeatle progressions, and russian twists
all variations of these made me much stronger
also go towards strength building rest/sets

I just did my weekly ab routine: 4 x 10
all weighted, going from about 15kg's up to 20 kg's

I dont think any of those hit the lower abs but oh well, we're not all perfect

There is no way you can have a weak core if you can brace your spine for a 500 lbs squat or deadlift, you weeny.

That said, Roman Chair sit ups are, bar none, the best abdominal isolation.
