There is no shame about dropping that 2pl8 deadlift. I dropped them when it had 1pl8, still dropping them at 5pl8.

Dropping DBs puts you at greater risk than just pulling them to your side if you're lying down. Use your tris and pull the them to the side of your chest. If you can't sit up, SLOWLY extend your arm, rotate your wrist, and let go of the weight.
