One advantage of using kg weights in the US is Americans have no sense of what a kilogram is. So even if you know off the top of your head that 1 kg is about 2.2 Pounds, you probably have no emotional attachment to the numbers. People don't know if a 60 kg OHP is supposed to be impressive or not. There's no hangups about lifting too much or too little. You just lift.
