I'm very confused. I've been working out for 6 months consistently and while I'm making gains, I'm also gaining fat. I started out skinny. I was concerned about getting fat in the process, so I got protein powder that was only 300 calories a shake. My diet has not gotten worse during his time, if anything it's gotten better. Wtf.
Stop lying to yourself and start weighing out your food. No more estimating calories for you.

if you're eating in a caloric surplus, you WILL gain some fat. that's just how it works. your body isn't going to shuttle all of that energy into your muscles. expect to gain some fat when you bulk, but bulk slowly at a small deficit to limit the amount.
