opiate addiction is killing my relationship and life.
im 26. so is my gf. for 2 years my opiate use has increased and increased to the point that it's essentially become the most important thing in my life. it's not even the physical addiction/dependency that gets me. it's the mental effects. i dont take it every day and doses arent crazy, but its turned me into an emotionally numb zombie and my gf is done with it. shes wanting to take a break because i keep failing to get off em. shes not sexually satisfied because i have no libido. im distant and disconnecting and unpresent with her while im on em. shes not attracted to me when im on em cuz I lose my masculinity. subutex use has probably tanked my test.
tl;dr opiate addiction making my gf want to take a break, what paradigm shift do i need to stop taking this shit?

Fellow br/opi/ giving advice, it's tempting to be self destructive, but at the end of the day your future is up to you, take charge of your life man.
Start tapering your doses, talk to your GP or a Doctor, decrease your dose down to the lowest maintanance dose possible and start hitting the Gym. I had the same problem, I cut down my use and started being more engaged in life. Libido came back after a month of stopping.

I have just quit smoking and i think of it like disgusting shit that made me weak. Cant really tell how opiates gonna go.

I'm working on the same problem ATM bro. I moved into a new apartment with a roommate our landlord hooked me up with last year. 3 months in, I fry my hand in a deep-fryer, use some opiates to kill the pain, and then find out my new roommate is a heroin addict. Deadly combination wound up getting me hooked.
So far, here's what's worked: Just telling myself over and over again through the course of a day that I don't need it, I'll be fine if I just keep on keeping on, and chain-smoking cigarettes to try and avoid thinking about that horrible feeling you get when your receptors are opiate-starved.
I would recommend having something to curb the withdrawal symptoms and feeling, also tapering down does work. You just have to tell yourself "Not right now" and "Not this time" over and over again. You might do it later that day instead, but the fact that you waited will help. It'll make it easier on you.
