Tell me honestly, is the keto diet a troll?
I did that 2 times. I felt like shit, looked worse due to water loss, my lifts were going down a lot.
Now i cut on an IIFYM+F+M approach and i lose fat steadily, can keep all my lifts up (talking about more than 2pl8 bench for reps here) and i feel great because i still eat ~3000kcal per day (high TDEE)
It's not a troll, you either didn't stick to it or did it wrong.
It takes a week to get into ketosis, the more you do it the more effective it gets. Don't forget to eat too much fat and not much protein !

it's not a "troll", but it's definitely misunderstood. people think that since you primarily use fat for energy it means you'll lose more body fat. they don't understand that any calorie restricted diet will take energy from your fat stores, and that the amount of fat lost depends on the actual deficit. it doesn't matter if you're in ketosis or not.
obviously the diet works, but so does basically any reasonable diet.
