No the american people basically refused to continue funding the war after income taxes were increased 6% because they thought it was unwinnable and a bunch of flower-dicked draft dodgers were up in their faces about "violence never solved any problems man". Even if it descended into a war of attrition the US would've smoked the VC. The American soldiers didn't lose the war, liberals lost the war.
Americans slaughtered them until the hippies couldn't watch anymore. Props to the US soldiers for fighting with skill despite lack of support and having one arm tied behind their back. Props to the Vietnamese for bravery and dedication.
