It still appears to be pretty much full density if I do a #1 buzz, and since I've worn my hair close since 18, I've always known I look good with no hair. People actually tell me I look better buzzed, even when I had a full head of hair. So I guess it could be worse. I'm sure I'll be bald on top by 50, but overall it's a mile balding pace.

Started seeing minor signs of hair loss at around 18
Somehow stopped when I was 19
Decided to keep what I had, started lipogaine + 1% ketoconazole shampoo (regenepure)
Started sterons at 19-20 ish, kept up same regimen but added low dose finasteride (.125mg for 350mg test and .25mg for 400mg)
Hair stayed the same but noticed some shedding, not too worried
Started to take mk-677 which made my hair grow back quite a bit thicker. All throughout I started to see a little bit of regrowth along the hairline which I was really stoked about. I feel like the top has gotten thicker too

Rogaine = minoxidil. Minox is sometimes used orally as a vasoldilator for hypertensives.
Minox (for hair) is used locally on the scalp and shouldn't have a dramatic affect systemically. Some people swear by taking it orally for hair regrowth but those people are fucking idiots and playing with their health.
Finasteride is good as it's an anti androge n and affects the underlying mechanisms of hairloss, unfortunately it can often have side effects such as watery ejaculate, limp dick and fatigue. I tried it and it knocked the shit out of me.
Generally speaking your bf would be safe to start rogaine and a keto shampoo such as nizoral. I'd discuss finasteride with your gp

When you get birthed naturally when they pull the baby out of the vagina of the woman the baby's head actually gets squished a bit (vaginal tearing might actually lessen the effect) and it tends to stay this way a bit though most of it actually evens out rather quickly. Shampoo has a lot of "toxic" ingredients which basically wash out all the nutrients in your hair follicles, make the hair follicle shrink and lose stability and it also destroy your natural fatty layer on your scalp. Ever noticed how your face gets oily when you dont wash it reguarly? Your scalp is the same, its a protective layer and shampoo washes it off just like soap does for your hands/face.
It doesnt really increase hair loss, but it shortens the life span of your hair follicle. There is a difference, but for your appereance there is no, because in the end for both ways you will have a less hair on your head.

as children we're too accustomed to pulling and yanking on our hair (showering, shampooing, brushing, combing, constantly getting haircuts, overall hair fuckery) and as an adult you simply can't do that.
Your hair grows slower as an adult, so if you want to keep in in your head you have to leave it alone and allow the follicles to grow.
Do this, and use something like Rogaine, and try to get some exercise. This will reduce the amount of testosterone in your scalp in addition to giving your hair follicles less stress to deal with.
If you take care of your hair the way you would take care of a frail plant, your hair will grow back full.

To specify when I say exercise I mean light aerobic to moderate exercise. If you push yourself too far you'll also make your hair fall out.
Also eat lots of fruits and veggies, fresh fish, dial down the processed foods and beef.
As someone who's reversed my hairloss, that's what seemed to work with me. It's a juggling act and you need to keep track of all the factors that can weaken your hair.
