Iirc lance Armstrong trainer had a theory that people who are used to doing a lot of exercise start sweating a lot even after doing a small amount of exercise.
The idea was that even after jogging to catch a bus your body goes into overdrive sweating because it think you're about to run a marathon

But I've no idea whether this theory of his had any scientific backing whatsoever

I definitely sweat a lot more than I used to before I started lifting. On the other hand I've been bulking, so it's probably that.
