Because I'm an idiot, I splurged and bought a power rack to start my home gym.

Thing is, I live in a 2nd floor apartment. Am I going to bust through the floor?
Should I cancel the order?
Get a half rack instead?
Put some kind of flooring under? (Floor is carpet)

Stats for relevant weight ranges:
Binch 180
Dead 300 1RM
Squats 130 (yes I know. That's why I bought a rack)
>>
yes, not because you will bust through the floor, but you live in an apartment. Just get a gym membership until you buy a house.

This, a home gym is a waste of space in an apartment

Why, if the floor isn't an issue

I have an extra bedroom. Stop projecting your space insecurities!!1

>Am I going to bust through the floor?
No you won't unless you live in a third world country or something.

>Should I cancel the order?
If there's valid reason to cancel the order then do so

but if you've no issues with the cost and want to go straight for the once in life investment then don't cancel

>Get a half rack instead?
now a half rack/squat stands with spotter arms would be enough for quite while for you. As long as you squat less than the safety rating of the stands/rack/whatever you're fine

but you miss out other uses for the rack
>pull-up bar
>weird resistance band exercises
>pin pulls (deadlifts from the pins instead of floor, its likely that stands/halfrack doesn't have low enough setting for the spotter arms
>etc

>Put some kind of flooring under? (Floor is carpet)

platform made of plywood and black rubber mat would be ideal way to protect your floor when deadlifting

not if you built it yourself to be collapsible like i did.
do that. but i'd be fucking pissed off if someone was lunking deadlifts and squats every day in the flat above me.
