>>
100g, and 100 times its own bodyweight is 10kg not 100 - the beetles lift 22lbs.
>>
>>36246745

>100g and 850x it's own weight, 187 lbs

Watch the fucking video fucktard.

that's 1kg you brain dead mutant. 2.2 lbs

where the hell did they say the beetle weighed 100g?
at the beginning of the video, it said they weighed 2 grams.
>>
>>36246745
it says 2 grams
>>
>>36246970

the voice clearly says, "8 ball"

850 times 2 grams is 1.7 kg, or about 3.75 pounds
>>
this thread is super boring
>>
>>36246996
why would you post the video if you don't believe the video?
there are more than 1 species you know
>>
>>36246439
They can weigh up to 100g in their larval stage, but half that at maturity. 50g*850= 42.5 kilos. I'm not sure what a trestle lift is (or if I'm hearing that word correctly), but if any human can do 17x their own bodyweight in one I'd guess it's something like a backlift where any able bodied adult human could lift at least a couple hundred kilos.
>>
>>36246865
Lmao, 100*100 makes a thousand?
>>
>>36247011
FUCK OFF WE'RE TALKING ABOUT BEETLES
>>
>>36246996
The video, that you posted, which claims they can lift 850 times their bodyweight also says that their bodyweight is 2 grams. Why would anyone go to google to figure out how much they weigh when you already provided us with the information?
>>
>>36247073
no you're arguing about 3rd grade math
>>
>>36246958
>>36246970
I was reading about them elsewhere and it said 100g, my mistake.

It looks like this >>36247001 is the right answer, though: impressive for a 2g insect but a long way from 200lbs.
>>
>>36247049
1000 grams in 1 kilogram...
>>
>>36247132
Yes. So 10,000 grams would make ...
>>
>>36247139
1kg! 2.2 mofuckin pounds you jabrone. welcome to math class.

I can lift 200 pounds.

I can lift 200 beetles.
>>
>Scarab beetle weighs 80g
>Can lift 1141 times it's bodyweight
>80 x 1141 = 91,280
>91,280 divided by 430 (amount of grams in a lb) = 212
>the Scarab Beetle can lift up to 212 lbs

I am talking about a different species of beetle from the rhinoceros beetle in the video. Although rhinoceros beetles are very strong, they are not as strong as a Scarab beetle. Also I do not care what the lady in the video said, mature rhinoceros beetles do not weigh 2g, they weigh closer to 50g.

Just accept that insects can regularly lift more then you, /fit/.
>>
>>36247184
its a trestle lift, so a half squat
they're referring to this
>Weight 360 lb (163 kg)
>The Guinness Book of World Records (1985 edition) lists his feat of lifting 6,270 pounds (2844.02 kg) in a back lift as "the greatest weight ever raised by a human being".

>>36247236
Lift included in the Guinness Book of World Records This record has been expunged due to no official witness being present, and no evidence of the weight's measurement. (Source: "Guinness Book of World Records".)

Backlift: 6,270 lb (2,840 kg) (weight raised slightly off trestles; done June 12, 1957, in Toccoa, Georgia)[1]
→ listed as the greatest weight ever lifted by a human being[1]
