Farmer's walk appreciation thread?

I just did them for the first time (with 24kg kettlebells) and my forearms got fucking trashed. Wish I started doing these a lot sooner.

I read somewhere that you should start with 50% bodyweight (i.e. 25% in each hand) but that was a bit too heavy for me to grip properly. I'd go with about 40%.

its easy enough to figure out on your own, just grab a pair of dumbbells and walk around the gym with them. start really low, with 25lbs, and if thats way too easy then grab a pair of 35lbs and walk around. keep doing this until you can barely make it back to the rack with the weight.

and if you dont like walking around with dumbbells, then just do static holds. i started doing both when i couldnt DL more than 225 without straps (bar kept slipping) and in 4 months i was able to do over 300.

Had an appointment at physio one day, instead of parking car at shops afterwards just walked to shops and carried the bags all the way back, really did feel like a mini workout as I had bought so fucking much

I can diddy 385x3 mixed. Started adding farmers walks with 80 lbs?(its in kg) kettle bells 2 weeks ago. 1 month ago I could hardly hold 315x2 double overhand, but now I can hold 335x2 and it doesn't slip out of my hands. I definitely think they do something. I have a track at my gym that's 240m around. I walk around it carrying the kettle bells. At first I had to take 4 breaks around the track, but now I only do 2. I tried doing 1 break last workout and that was not happening. An anyone curious i'm 190lbs 6'

I take two 3gal water jugs for two blocks for my work regularly. Walk at a decent pace and don't get tired until I'm at the door to my building.

Oddly enough, part of my daily routine involves carrying 2 x 20kg drums of corn about 100m vertically and 300m horizontally up a muddy hill jumping a gate doing a sort of dead lift to pull the drums over then walking another 50m whilst kicking 400+kg steers to politely persuade them to get out of the way. Usually I try to run back.
