Eh, i have really bad adhd(the real kind, not the made up kind) and im doing fine in uni for EE
For me, the main symptoms include:
just missing questions on tests, not even realizing i have to do them
leaving homework on desk after ive done it and forgetting to bring to class
doing stupid math errors: ect, 5 + 1 = 5
forgetting simple things
i know this happens to everyone, but it happens to me 10x more than most other people, and people have noticed before i even got diagnosed

Think of a thought as being a product on an automated assembly line. With a normally functioning working memory, everything proceeds as expected.
For people with ADHD, a step gets skipped, or swaps places with another, or the whole damn product just falls off the line and is never seen again.
Your own example is also valid, but is by no means the only example of ADHD related impaired executive functioning.

The whole methodology behind giving stimulants is to dow regulate your adrenergic receptors. I thought it was weird too at first. Why give a stimulant to kids who are already hyper? Amphetamines release stored NE, which hit your adrenergic receptors. If your receptors are hit too much, they down regulate, thus requiring more NE to be stimulated. The stimulant dosage stays the same, receptors down regulate, kid seems normal now.

At first it was amazing i felt like i could complete abything i put my mind to.
Always alert and friendly waiting for the next task at work. Over time this shit just ruined me.
I became heavily depressed after a few months of using it, had to keep using it to get my mind back to a notmal mind set, lost waaaay to much gains on this shit, barely at ever.
Tldr: adderal is a stupid drug, dont take it unless your completely weak. This shit is not beneficial even if you have "adhd"

Do you have to take it daily? I was thinking of getting it from a doctor and just taking it for homework and studying. I can focus in a classroom environment that's quiet and directed, but the second there's a distraction of any kind I just lose all fucking focus. I'm gonna fail some class if it keeps up.
Just take it every once in awhile or "as needed" after about a week or two taking it everyday starts to take its toll. Cycle on and off desu

ADHD is terribly easy to get diagnosed with. I would wager that even 60% of diagnosed ADHD patients do not actually have ADHD. I can speak from a position of experience because I have legitimate ADHD that physically prevents me from paying attention, especially in my lectures. My mind just wanders all over the place even while desperately trying to force myself to pay attention.
I've been on a 72mg daily dose of Concerta for a few months now and there is literally no effect on my concentrations levels while on or off that I can detect as well as no side effects.
Also, nervous system stimulants are supposed to act as depressants in people with actual ADHD, so if you were diagnosed with ADHD and you get this "high", "buzzed", or alert feeling, you don't have ADHD.

Its just not worth it in my honest opinion and experience. This stuff does not fuck around, if you want to take adderal find a dealer and buy small amounts of it.
Trust me, having it available at all times is not good, its addictive and potent.

Forget adderall, that shit isn't good for you. The way I do it:

I take Vyvanse 40mg. Been taking these, Focalin, some Concerta, and a smidgen of Adderall for about 6 years (22 currently).
Started around 8th grade, stopped at the end of Sophomore year of high school because it was making me anti-social and bitter. Although I did get my work done, I do believe it stunted me socially.
University starts and I'm back on it. Not as bitter but still get emo whenever the crash window comes after my 6 hours of concentration.
Do not take this everyday because it'll fuck with your psyche. For me I'm trying to quit. The most I'll do is once or twice a week depending on how much work I have.

I have adhd as well OP. As someone who was forced to take amphetamines regularly as a child I advise not to fuck with that shit. Yeah its great if you just use it every once in awhile, but that shit will destroy your mind and body in the long run. It is literally poison for your brain when used regularly. I will say though that adderall + weed is GODLIKE when taken in proper amounts.
