Groups of guys just starting taking up squat rack and bench press and other equipment and being a shit show of mediocrity.

I go to two gyms. 24 Hour Fitness, and my University gym.

. Machines take up space that could be used for real equipment but beause everyone is to afraid of real fitness and loves quick easy fitness there arent enough racks to go around. In the morning rotc is on racks, middle day sports, evening everyone and their damn mother. Sick of machines. I want to go to a real gym.

Talking about machines, people who have bad form on motherfucking machines triggers me.

My first gym bro who was an unaware dyel that couldnt even bench 1pl8 would have shit form on most machines. One that comes to mind is pic related. His back would come completely off the seat and he would do anything to get those reps out, such as using momentum from leaning forward to get that weight up. Then he'd move the weight up because it was "too easy".

Never had it in me to tell him he had shit form on lots of exercises. He did half squats, did 1/4 ROM curls, and all that jazz. I didn't have the heart to tell him he was not gonna make good gains, cause he has been lifting longer than me and that would be extremely discouraging to him.

Passed him up in all the main lifts already, such is life.

This. The gym I go to only has one squat rack, but there would be room for another one if they got rid of 2 treadmills, and one of the cable stations. My gym seriously has three cable stations but only one squat rack.

I mean, i get why this is silly, but it's still plenty effective. Not sure why he didn't just go get some DB's and do it, but whatever. Using up a preacher bench and a machine isn't a huge deal if the gym is empty enough.

Other NYR lifters (im one) who are as small as me but lift like 50% more because of doing half ROMs and various maneuvers to get momentum for whatever exercise they're doing.. anything to not work out the right muscles that the exercise is there for.

i better surpass them soon or that'll be so depressing

Kind of ties into the first thing. At my gym there are three squat racks, each with their own set of bumpers. Every time, some fuckwit will come along and take the pl8s for the right side of the bar from one set, and the pl8s for the left side from a set for another rack. Then you go over to the set associated with their rack to undo their buffoonery and take the single pl8 over to the other set and they look at you like your taking their pl8s.

My routine requires that I only max out for 3 out of 5 sets on my main exercises. The 1st set is 60%, the second is 80%, then I go full. I do it to keep track of my weights.

Did you reply to the correct post? There is no defence for using 8 * 5 kg plates. You could achieve the exact same increments with a pair of 10 kg plates and half as many 5 kg plates.

My current Uni is the second Uni I've been to but is the only one that has a greek system. I'm in my second at the only two semesters I'll be here before moving on to the next university. I Don't have time to be a part of an official frat due t homework obligations.I was however in a sports club that was ran very much like a frat we had a house and parties just like any other greek house. I would have stuck around had it not been for an injury that has made me non competitive.

My injury is one reason why going to these gyms is frustrating. I want to get back into the shape I was before my injury but the gyms are always packed.
Also I know not all members of a frat are douchebags.
I also know that some people join frats who act like totalfucking knobs becasue they are in a frat and basically use that as intimidation factor to act like total assholes too
When I say frat boy its just in use to have everyone know the kind of person I'm talking about without being to verbose.
Being in a frat was fun, really fun. But some people use it as an excuse to do nasty things they don't do otherwise and it can turn people pretty sour.

I'm a fairly tolerant person. I'm a very experienced lifter and lift a ton. I see someone using a flat bench to do meme shit like curls or DB press, fine, it's a little annoying but not necessarily rage-inducing.

Now, if you take the fucking barbell off of one of the only two seated OHP racks in the entire gym (instead of opting for one of the 20 or so adjustable flat benches) and start doing some dumb shit like curls, shrugs, or even DB press, I'll get pissed every time.
