Do abs need to be trained in a special way to show or something?

Do abs need to be trained in a special way to show or something? I give them just as much attention as my other muscle groups (3 sets hanging leg raise to failure every workout). My bodyfat isn't high either.

You just don't have much muscle in general. You either have to train a lot more (or a lot harder), or get a lower body fat, or both.

Dude I've been lifting for 6 months now and I've done weighted situps, leg raises, planks, lots of them. Never had effect.

Then a friend of mine told me about this exercise. Try to do [pic related] but without the med ball, just lay down on the floor on your back and try to lift upper body and legs in the same time so they touch in midair. Do it as quickly as possible without losing synchronization.

I did 5 sets of 5 reps, and two days later I still have sore abs.

As with any exercise, make sure you are using the right muscles. in this case, the abs and not the psoas major.
So bend at the vertebrae and not at the hip. Push your torso towards your pelvis, not your stomach towards your thighs.

Funny thing is that when I was doing rebounding my abs were the most prominent. Weighted crunches brought them out nicely, too. I started doing these weird tubing situps and my abs got less visible despite leaning out a good 5-6 pounds and otherwise getting stronger.

I got abs, you need to do weighted ab exercises like the rope pulldown, or weighted crunches, 60lb at least for that, for rope you can do 130lb or so.
