So I want to be a bouncer at my college bar/club. I bench 280, squat 365, deadlift 450, barbell curl 135x5 (strict form). I'm 5'9. Do I have a chance?
I've seen a 5'9 bouncer once. tbqh he did not look great, I think you should do something different

Most of the time you will be dealing with complete idiots who are drunk. Size is not that important. Being big makes you look more intimidating, but whenever there's trouble it's usually pretty easy to deal with it if you know what you're doing regardless of size.

So how do I prove I can handle my own? I don't know martial arts, but I've been in numerous fights and won them all (a long time ago, matured since then). My strongest attribute would be my verbal communication. I'm pretty good at diffusing angry idiots.

If you've got no formal training I don't know how you can prove it. Just talk to the employer and try to convince him, I guess.
Also verbal skilles aren't really needed. If you get called chances are the person you will be dealing with is already past the point of being "defused".

Yo I wrestled in high school and took a judo class for 5 months twice a week. Are these good skill sets for being a bouncer? I'm thinking I can easily throw people off balance/to the ground and keep them there with my wrestling skills

I used to work at a pub that had a bad reputation for fights.
The best bouncer we had there was some 40+yr old guy, only about 5"10 and average build. He'd been doing it for years though.
The key to being a good bouncer is NOT about being big, or being tall, or intimidating.
The key is simply having good communication skills and conflict management with the worst of people. Have this skill, and you'll almost never need to get into fights.
All that said, it does help to be big of course. And every pub will have at least 1-2 massive guys, that may or not have any idea how to communicate, they're only there because their massive and ideally the head of security is good at communication at least.
