Thinning bros ww@? I've been losing my hair since I was around 21 (24 now) and I'm really thinking that it's now or never. Surgery will always be out of my price-range, so I'm thinking of starting on finasteride (not sure if I should go Proscar or Propecia). I'm not considering Rogaine since I have cats and work at an animal shelter (minoxidil is toxic to cats), but I've been contemplating taking finasteride for months now.

I've been doing a short-all-around-but-with-slight-bangs for a while (like pic-related), but the my hair is just too thin on the sides. I'm also very skinny, gaining weight might help me out a bit, but I really need my hair - I also have pretty bad acne/scarring, and I don't want the roughed up skinhead look. I'm experiencing some hair loss as well. I've been using rogaine for years and it seems to help at the crown a bit. I began using propecia 1mg and noticed sides. I cut the dose down to .25mg after reading it has almost the same efficacy as the 1mg with less sides. I have literally no sides at all anymore.
My regimen:
-.25 mg finasteride daily (might try bumping up to .5mg)
-minoxidil twice a day (morning and night at the crown and temples)
-biotin
-Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times a week
Hair loss seems to have stopped and I feel like my crown is starting to thicken up. Only been on fin for 3 months so it is probably too early to tell.

I've been on the .25mg dose for 3 months. I have a box cutter blade and just slice the pill into quarters. Saves me some money, too. I don't go through nearly as much medication.
There's only one way to tell if you will get the sides. You have to try it. I will say this, my body reacted WAY better to the .25mg dose. Almost 2 years ago I tried the full 1mg and it fucked my shit up.

Going to see a derm tomorrow about hair loss. Hairline has definitely been receeding over the years. Start probably when I was 23-24, at least that's when I noticed something was up. My family has virtually no history of MBP or any other form of hairloss. Worried it might be due to something else. Wish me luck.
If only the side-effects were nearly anything else, I'd be on fin right now no question. I'm not really attractive and I have awful skin, but at least I have a big cock. It does work, only slows it down or reduces the symptoms. Which is worth it, far less itchy head , and your hair doesn't fall everywhere.
