It's a sign of deeper problems. People who are obese are impulsive, not that following your gut is wrong, but they are so impulsive that they disconnect the outcome from their actions. Find the time when the gym is most empty at your school, schedule classes around it next semester if you are able to. I lucked into having a 3 hour break starting at 12:30, and no one was fucking there. Gave me plenty of time to lift, eat, shower, chill, and then go back to class at 3:30.
If you go to the gym M-F for 1 hour, that's a 5hr/week commitment. Even if you have intense 2 hour workouts, that's 10 hours a week, which is still entirely manageable.
You will have to sacrifice, but be honest with yourself. You have 10 hours of free time per week. Even if you're one of those "omg I have to study fucking constantly" types, the stress you relieve from going to the gym, and the clear mind that comes from being fit will heavily outweigh the lost hour.
