I have one and use it almost every day, just pump out a set of pull-ups/frenchies when you walk past it

I do chin ups with it, but also lay it on the ground in an 'n' curve and do both wide and close grip push-ups.

I bought one for $20 but almost never do pullups on it. I use it to stretch my back after playing vidya all day though. So far it hasn't ruined my doorframe and I'm in a very old house
