Not the person you asked but it isn't all about money for most A-list actors (or really most people in highly competitive fields), it is about being the absolute best. Being the best in your field usually takes some pretty major sacrifices, and I could understand a celebrity, who knew he needed to be fucking shredded for a role in 6 months, doing anything it took to get there.
I have no idea if wolverine is natty or not, but it wouldn't really surprise me if he was't.
