Not him but it looks like a watered down ss.The fact is Mark Rippetoe is a great coach who has shit tonnes of testomonies and even zach as evidence,plus the SS book is great.
5x5 is alot of volume and you will stall faster than on ss
Stronglifts recomends starting from the bar and adding I think it was 2.5kg erry session.Why just add weight you can do no need to start at 5kg.Some people will say it teaches form but in all honesty you can learn form reading/watching shit and applying it to your sessions.

I can't speak from my own experience since I've never ran SL nor SS, because I just don't like squating that often, but SL is a far inferior version of SS with accessories imo. You can run it for a few months and see if you like it, I believe that if you like routine you make better progress than if you doing something you don't enjoy.
I'm currently on Candito's Linear program which I can highly recommend.

I broke my ankle this spring and tore up 2 different ligaments in the process. As a result of that, i don't have the ability to squat or deadlift properly and my physical therapist told me it can take YEARS for ligaments to heal. So i can't deadlift or squat until then. I was at 325 for squat and 410 for deadlifts for 5x5 this spring.

I have no idea. I have always just had weak legs and strong upper body. I have been wrestling since I was in 3rd grade and I am 6ft 2in. So I am a skinny basterd but have so called "old man strength" I have been picking people up and slamming them since I was a kid a never really had formal gym experience for a set amount of time. The majority of my leg work is running and air squats. And the grappling and shoving helped my bench. I really don't know why I can deadlift 300 and weak everywhere else. I think if I hit the gym more and ate like a machine I could be 185 and reach my goals by the end of the year. And maybe balance out.
