Dude... same shit happens to me a few times. I'll get insanely motivated and go 4 times a week, and then it dwindles town to about 2 to 3 max. I had to stop smoking all together and it sucked. Yeah. I tried switching to alcohol but that just made life suck the next day. A lot of people said to try going to work out high and that just sounds like a fuck up or injury waiting to happen. I literally only lift for myself. Nothing feels better than finishing a few sets of heavy highbar squats. I enjoy them, because being ableft to lift the literal weight on my shoulders makes me feel as though I can lift the metaphorical weight on my shoulders.

I lift because I have an almost crippling fear of mediocrity. I know I can get stronger, faster, and wiser. I know I am better than the average person. I haven't reached my max potential and I can't stand just giving into the shitty life that most people settle for. First, I lift because I want to be healthy, and it is one of the very few kinds of exercising that I legitimately enjoy doing.
Second, I want to mire myself in the mirror.
Third, I want to be healthy when I am middle aged/old. I'm 25, and I see people just 10 years older than me who look more like 20 years older. They've completely given up. That will not be me.
Fourth, it is unfair to my wife to not be fit. She married me with the expectation that I will do what I can to be healthy, and I will.

Getting a degree in modern education systems around the world (outside of the best universities in STEM fields) is mostly about being obedient enough to do all the mind-numbing work in time and memorizing shit just enough that you pass a test, then forgetting what you "learned" to make room for new "knowledge". Most degrees don't get you a good job so why bother getting a good degree? Boys ask these questions and then retreat into drugs, video games, anything to avoid the faceless tyrant that is asking them to do work for the sake of showing the tyrant they will do any random work you give them, no questions asked. School is a test of obedience. Large portions of university are a test of obedience. And this test is what women are doing better at. Ultimately, companies who employ these women will still fail to compete with male-dominated companies. Ultimately, most of these women will still either have children (although that number is shrinking) and/or make retarded career choices. We're not seeing the rise of women in society, we're seeing the fall of education. Private companies are going to have to do more and more training if they want qualified employees, and they will rely less and less on degrees over time. This is already happening, just in slow motion.

My girlfriend of a year dumped me recently, and I'm at a time in my life where all my friends are too far away or too busy working to hang out with (just post-graduation) so it's pretty much just me and my parents with occasional chatting to friends.
I'm really not copying too well, but lifting takes up half the day and keeps my mind focused on diets and routines and stuff for a while.

My school was allegedly one of the toughest in the country and yet whenever I actually studied for a test I passed it with flying colors. That's after tuning out for most of every lesson before. None of my math teachers were able to even give me examples for real world applications of the most basic shit we "learned". Teachers are for the most part drones who never left school. They go from school to university back to school. How could they teach our youth anything? Anything other than how to stay in school your whole life?
But back to the great achievements of women: Lo and behold, a bunch of girls who frankly weren't the brightest (even compared to other girls) but who had always perfectly obeyed teachers graduated with perfect grades. How did they accomplish this miracle, shattering all kinds of "gender stereotypes" forever, if you believe feminist spin? Well, they probably sat down and studied a bit more than usual because that's all it takes. It doesn't take talent or years of learning, just a short burst of obedience. In terms of personality these girls were wife material, not boss or scientist material. They won't lead companies, they won't start or expand a business, they won't cure cancer. If I had to bet I'd say they'll probably become accountants or something cushy like that. If they don't snag a rich husband in college, that is. I wish them all the best so I hope it's the latter. My gf has PCOS and gained a lot of weight in high school. She eventually got diagnosed, and with the medicine they gave her she has lost about 80% of the original weight gain. A lot of her friends were those awful pro-ana theater types though, and were absolutely horrible to her about her weight. Lots of backhanded compliments, lots of rude remarks. One girl even got her a dress for her birthday that was deliberately too small.
She's in really good shape now, but still suffers from some pretty serious body image issues.
I think the biggest reason I lift is to basically be her revenge on those girls who were so mean to her.
