/fit/. what would happen if i just squatted, paused benched, and deadlifted. occasional farmer's carries/static holds. would i develop muscular imbalances? how can you get muscular imbalances anyway?

You can. You get muscular imbalances mostly from opposing muscle pairs being worked out unevenly (yes, I'm simplifying like a motherfucker here).

It isn't guaranteed, because a lot of the indirectly targeted musculature is going to depend on your form and proportions.

Pullup

These are the building blocks of a good routine and is the 'minimalistic' training you should do

It doesn't have to be pullups (could just as easily be chin-ups or lat pulldowns) but for balance sake you want a vertical pull to go with your vertical push (ie OHP or similar).

Because OHP, rows, core/arm/calf work, and Romanian deadlifts snap your shit up? I don't advocate blindly following the beginner programs, but you're too uninformed not to. No offense, just my honest opinion. We were all there once. Go with SL, add Romanians, come back in 4 months. Watch lots of Jason Blaha and read Greg Nuckols and Eric Helms
