If so, it's viral and mostly you get to suffer through it. A doctor might offer you anti-virals, which may lessen the severity a little. You may have pain or sensitivities for a while afterwards.
Be mindful that if it is shingles, when the blisters burst they are very contagious. This is super bad for adults who have never had chicken pox before. Do your own laundry.

But not always. I've had shingles. No pain. It was itchy until the blisters burst, then my back was hypersensitive to pressure and temperature for a few weeks. It was more annoying than anything.
