Dude just try to stick with jogging for a little bit, it gets fun as fuck.

The endorphins you get that first moment you switch from warm-up jog to actual run are fucking killer

Plus you get to spend time outside with your friends, people you know around town get to see you and can 'mire/ be bitter, it makes your heart healthy as fuck (Lifting isn't going to do old-age you any favors, but running sure as fuck will), and has a high chance of leading to playing Frisbee or hiking, the two chillest things to do during the daytime

It clears your head as well as any non-cardio exercise

not to mention that girls fucking LOVE it when you ask if they want to go on a run with you. I cannot stress this enough

It's worth it on just the "running with chicks" factor alone. Hot girls fucking love it, you'll be better at it at them because your a dude so you'll never embarrassingly exert yourself (Unless your a little bitch who doesn't run)

They've done research and exercising with someone else causes you to become sexually attracted to them (Symptoms of sustained exercise are very similar to those of sexual attraction, and the cognitive dissonance does the rest), so basically makes the friend zone impossible

That being said, JUST running is for fags. Just like just going to the gym is for fags. It's 2015, you should be doing both

Yes, because it works your whole body. The trouble with gym fitness is that usually guys overwork their shoulders, pecs, and biceps. You get very asymmetrical development and guys who look like weird triangles. Running gives you quite balanced all-over muscle development. And it gives you fantastic cardio-vascular results. It burns huge numbers of calories too, so it keeps your weight good. And there are so many ways to manipulate your goals or do it with others via races or in varied scenery that it doesn't get old.

Jogging for cardio is substandard, there are better exercises for building up cardiovascular endurance, including but not limited to HIIT of any type, cycling, swimming, jumping rope (my favorite) and even stair climbers. That said, jogging is top notch if on yohimbine as the low intensity will make sure your heart doesn't explode

In theory, it's possible to use a gym and have good leg development, but over half of the guys at my big gym in New York do very little work on their legs. And it shows! Three quarters of the machines at that gym (and all others I've used) are for upper body and not legs, and almost everyone is doing upper-body work with their free weights. I think the majority of guys using gyms intensively end up looking physically unbalanced, especially when compared to (say) people who are really dedicated to yoga or professional swimmers or dancers. Personally, I find that a combination of some weights and gym cardio with running (at least 20 miles a week) with some sports (varied according to the season, from tennis to football to surfing) produces the best all round body balance. I know it's not the consensus view here, where most people are a bit obsessed with lifting, but honestly I think that's because most people here are on the young side and are still concerned with bulking up so they look manly. My priorities are health performance (pulse, heart pressure, lung-capacity, sleep quality, longevity) and all-over integrated muscle development. It's just my subjective preference and doesn't have to yours, but it's got some pretty solid reasoning behind it.

Everyone should do some sort of cardio. After years of lifting, HIIT changed it all for better and nowadays I recover so much faster that it's simply amazing. I used to be dead after a proper squat set but now no matter how intensive the work out, 30 seconds is all I need after a set before I'm ready for another.

Not to forget to mention how cutting is easier when HIIT does its' magic. I also love the feeling afterwards, beats lifting desu. And I'm saying this as someone who used to hate cardio and only lift them heavy ass weights.

I don't consider people actually fit if they don't so HIIT as well. Looking good is nothing if you don't have such capabilities like being fast and mentally able to overcome the desire to stop running and taste the blood in your mouth, dripping sweat like a motherfucker.

Lifting weights as an exercise is easy compared to running. The sets are short after all.

DO SOME HIIT, MAN.

I enjoy running very much, and do it every other day at least. I go at a weight control pace. That being said I also do a 4 day split routine with squats and deadlifts. I have gotten into kundalini meditation with a little bit of poses at the beginning. The point is about being well balance. Also, don't run on paved surfaces or sidewalks, as this sends brutal shockwaves through your body.
