It's funny how I used to be able to understand and sympathize with guys like in that video about 7 years back.
Now, it's just pathetic. It really hammers home how much I've changed and improved, and it reminds me of why things were not working out back then as they are now. It really is all in your mind and how you perceive/view things.
I feel bad for him, because he's trying to come off like this enlightened know-it-all, when it's really just caustic and toxic thinking. And it sucks, because even if it is not immediately apparent, I still believe that there is some measure of good potential in that guy to become better. I feel this intense desire to try and help him become a better version of himself, but the reality is that nobody external can do that for another person. It has to start within.
It's just difficult watching someone make it harder on themselves than it really is, and be so adamant that life will never be better.
Fuck, man, I feel bad for that guy, because he doesn't know how good it can really be once you step away from that thinking. And that's the crazy thing: he's the only one keeping himself there.
