Is stopping 3-4 reps into a 5 rep deadlift to rest your grip bad? It's only for like 5-10 seconds.
>>
As long as you need to and there's no way you can get the next rep go ahead. But if you're being lazy you'll never make it.

Unless you got some sadistic high rep cardio deadlift program going on, then the gainz from deadlifts come from moving the weights. If you need time to fix your grip in order to do that, then thats fine.
>>
I always stop about 5~ seconds between reps, to start from deadstop. Is this bad?

time to chalk it up + mixed grip
>>

that pic is wrong, you should teleport yourself whilst deadlifting

>you should
you should not*

It's not even "fixing" the grip as much as it is resting it.

I'm already using a mixed grip. I'm not even moving much weight (80kg/175lbs) and I'm still struggling. Guess it's time to buy chalk...

how can you struggle to grip 80kg mixed. i didnt struggle with grip doing double overhand until 100kg and im a tiny 135lb wristlet

I'm a ultimate wrist- and forearmlet. I seriously have smaller wrists than my mom. Pic coming up in a second.

no, you shouldn't be bouncing the weights, i reset after each rep as if pulling 5 singles.

5 seconds is a long time, wouldn't go over 2.5 seconds in a set of 5. if you're doing a heavy double or a single heavy set of 5 then 5 seconds might be ok but don't make a habit of it.

I started doing Farmer's walks to help with this same issue OP, I just started them so not sure how effective they are but I guess is something to consider.
>>
I am a fatass and I can only do 8 rep of 100kg /225 lb overhand
>>
Minimal rest between reps would be enough to cycle a breath and reinforce your core. That's like 2 seconds.

You're literally fine, I'm guessing you're a beginner.
I had a shit grip at first but it just eventually got better as I kept working out, didn't even take *that* long either. Just keep doing your DLs, rows, pull ups and whatnot, no need to overthink it.
