What's the next goal after 1/2/3/4?
>>
5?
>>
5 desu senpai
>>
5/6/7/8
>>
>>35128805
Now that you have a solid strength base, your focus can now shift to a more bodybuilding oriented type of program. Those numbers will enable you to drive even more hypertrophy, etc. Just start having some fun desu. with those numbers at least you dont lift like a dyel
>>
How about 2/3/4/5? That's as far as I got without ever doing serious shit like counting calories. I think 3/4/5/6 is close to impossible without roids mainly because of the insane press,so you might as well get the highest possible natty autist combo.
>>
>>35129003
Even for 2/3/4/5 , its going to take an insane amount of work focused on powerlifting type workouts, training heavy, low reps etc. unless you wanna go that route, I would say the stopping point for most is 1234 for reps. Much safer and youll look better tbhfam

Find the biggest PT in the gym and squat him to assert dominance. Then he must give you his PT shirt and you become the PT until someone squats you. Better start bulking brah.

>serious shit

The fuck is this. Counting calories is easy as shit.
>>
>>35129097
Umm, maybe it's easy for you, but some of us find that kind of thing triggering.
>>
>>35129112
I just assumed anyone who wanted to remotely make it would already be tracking macros

3 pl8 bench on Texas method is basically a year of eating right after 2 pl8. 295 1rm right now, 315 by april shouldnt be a problem.
>>
8%bf while still lifting 1/2/3/4
>>
>>35129053
>>35129053
Eh, it took me a total of about two years to reach those numbers. 1rm on upper body and for reps on lower body. I did 5/3/1 big but boring, so it wasn't even THAT powerlifting oriented. Didn't get fat either.
>>
>>35129097
It's mostly a nuisance if you don't prepare a lot of the food you eat yourself. Most of the time I was more likely to undereat, so I never bothered.
>>
>>35129205
I meant the ohp, some people have long arms. It's easier to compensate for those in the bench with a wide grip than in ohp.
>>
>>35129079
this desu
>>
>>35129277
Quit bitching about limb length. You aren't trying to set records, so it is not a valid argument.
The thing holding you back is your attitude and lack of effort.
Just fucking hoist already. Lay off the autist-sauce a minute.
>>
>>35129230
At what stats do you recommend starting 5/3/1 big but boring? How much of a surplus did you eat at while training since you said you didn't get fat?
>>
>>35128805
Raging newfag here, the fuck does 1/2/3/4 mean?
>>
>>35129566
1 plate OHP, 2 plate bench, 3 plate squat, 4 plate deadlift.

So it comes out to 135 lbs OHP, 225 lbs bench, 315 lbs squat, 405 lbs deadlift.

Basically it's the benchmark for whether someone is actually strong or not.
>>
How long did it take you all to reach 1/2/3/4?

I'm at 130/215/285/325 right now. I've been lifting for over a year but with shitty uni diet.
>>
>>35129691
I've been lifting for 9 months on a pretty good diet and I'm at 130/210/310/390.

So close to all of them, but haven't hit any yet..

Yeah I count protein and that's it.

Its as if you finished the beginner skill tree and now have to commit to one of three classes with their own skill trees and perks: Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, or Olympic lifting. All have their pros and cons, and you can mix two or three with varied success, depending on your goals.

noob here too. Does 1/2/3/4 mean for a 1rep max or does it mean your working weight?
I'm a couple months into SL5x5 and aiming for this as my first big fitness goal.
>>
>>35129986

Either, doesn't really matter. Obviously you'll be stronger if you do 1/2/3/4 for reps.
>>
>>35129986

This.

Who is bitching, faggit?
>>
I did 1/2/3/4 -> 2/3/4/5

Now im grinding out 3/4/5/6 but i push press or jerk the ohp. Ill probably stop at 3/4/6/7 ultimately.
>>
>>35129539
I started around 80/120/175/2 10kg as one rep max. I didn't count calories, but I gained weight very slowly, like a pound a month maybe.
>>
>>35130186
Even as a jerk or push press that's mighty impressive. Strict 3plate press would be incredible.
>>
>>35129691

havent reached it. at 110/170/215/335 for 5,6,6,5 reps. lifting since august 2014
>>
>>35129691
About 6 months.

Not gonna lie tho I have very good genetics, both sides of my family gradfathers were old school bodybuilders lol
