I'm assuming I'm just a drooling idiot, but help me out here, /fit/. Yes, I've read the sticky.

But I had a question in regards to calorie consumption. I want to shed some flabbage (gained a bunch of weight when my wife got pregnant and I was working a stressful desk job for 12-14 hours a day). My apartment building has a decent gym, so I've started there. I live just outside Seattle, in an area where good, natural, healthy food is easy to come by. We don't eat crap, and I can't stand sweet/sugary stuff anyway.

Anyway, point is, I want to drop this weight. I've tried lowering my calorie intake, but so far that just results in me being hungry as shit all the time. Starving yourself is counter-productive, right? I don't want to be that idiot.

I just want to be less fat, and I think I'm fucking up something that simple.

/fit/, help me out.

Drop 300-500 below maintenance. Exercise and the weight will drop
>>
I'm eating roughly 1100kcals and I'm not particularly hungry. eat more protein.

I get that, but is it normal to just be mad hungry all the time when you drop your calorie count?
>>
Be hungry for a while. Learn to deal
with it. It's actually a good skill to have. And you start to almost enjoy it in a weird way. Makes you feel stronger.

After a while your body will get used to eating less and you won't feel hungry all the time.

no, but it depends what you eat. if you eat a bunch of carbs, especially sugar, you'll be hungry all the time

Fair enough.

>starving yourself is counterproductive
if by starving yourself you mean <1600kcal, then yes

if by that you mean about 2000kcal, then no. your body is just getting used to you not eating ridiculous amounts of food

cardio, lift heavy things, calculate your TDEE, and eat about a 500kcal deficit. good things will happen

Also eat lots of chicken breast and lots of broccoli. Low calorie but filling. I also like cottage cheese for this reason

Huh. Okay. I used to eat a bunch of carbs (Bread, cereal, etc.) but I've cut most of that shit out over time. Should I just replace that with protein then?
>>
meat and vegetables (with a few exceptions) are excellent for cutting.

I don't eat a lot, I just spent almost a year barely exercising and sitting in a chair in front of a computer having panic attacks like a dumbass. Turns out that's how you go from 175-217lbs.

>>35115852
Thanks, anon. I'll give that a shot.
>>
>>35115891
you can make it, but only if you want it. do you want it anon? do you want to be a sexy beast for your wife? do you want your child to admire your body and want it for themselves? or do you want them to settle with a "little" flab? YOU GOTTA WANT IT ANON. YOU CAN MAKE IT
