Say your maintenance level calories is 3,500. If you eat enough protein, say 200 grams, around 100 grams of fat, and the rest carbs, would this make you fat? I know carbs aren't bad for you, just too much are like any other thing, but as long as you aren't going over your daily calories will you gain any fat since you are eating so many carbs?

The first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot come from nothing. This means that if you eat less calories (energy) than your body needs to maintain basic metabolic functions (your BMR), you will lose mass, since mass is a form of energy (E=mc^2). Assuming you eat enough protein and continue lifting to maintain muscle mass, your mass loss will primarily be fat.
