I was just thinking about making this thread, specifically about those who think they need 0.6-1g protein/lb of body weight per day or they will lose their gains. Fucking kek.

What if I have a 2 3/4 plate deadlift

If I were to choose between more protein, carbs, or fat after getting enough protein for the day what would be better? Also, how do I figure out how much protein I actually need daily?

If you can't run at least a 5k without wheezing like an old man you are not /fit/
>>
>>35090772
It most certainly doesn't hurt, and more protein = less carbs(usually) for the day= less average water weight every day= I look better than you.
>>
>>35090921
>not running a 5k so fucking fast that you wheeze like an old man

What's the point mayne
>>
>>35090801
Fat would be best, depending on how many calls we are talking. Excess protein is just turned to sugar through glycogenesis. It doesn't cause the same insulin spike as carbs, though.
So we'll say that if its like 300 cals, just try to go fat if you can. 300-500 cals get some more protein in there just cause that much fat is ridiculous to eat. 500+ get some carbs in there.

According to modern studies, most humans can only use about 20g protein per day (2 eggs.) more than that is fine, of course, maybe even necessary for some.
Bottom line: Use common sense and balance.

See>>35090948
And pls post body pic that justifies your support of the protein industry, you meme loving friend :)
>>
>>35090801
Consume 1g per lb. You can replace the calories with carbs, but you will look fatter compared to getting those calories from prot, keeping fat at about .5g per lb on a cut is ideal. So you don't want to change fat, and you know the protein you need, then you adjust weight by carbs.

Don't try to adjust your weight by your protein calories.
>>
>>35090948
>Excess protein
This is true, but 1g per lb is no where near an excess resulting in glycogen production.
>>
>>35090961
1000% broscience
Already ripped this stupid shit apart, bud. Post body pic ;)

>>
>>35090982
Ripped what apart?

1g of carbohydrates results in the body holding roughly 3g of water. Carb intake+sodium decides water weight, we've known this a long time.

YOU are the reason people need to stop posting =[
>>
>>35090960
You do know you can get protein from sources other than milk right?

Are you referring to the Whey/Casein industry, or all meat production in general?
>>
show me your double overhand 4 plate DL, not some pussy cheating shit with straps or mixed grip like some faggot fuckboy
>>
>>35091078
Mostly whey, so yes indeed I was referring to milk in a way, there.
The meat industry in general is not shilling the protein meme as hard themselves, but they absolutely benefit from it. If I were them, I'd absolutely be paying people like you to go online and defend eating shitloads of protein for no reason.
Both industries are heavily subsidized and therefore have the most to gain from shilling.

I have 70kg OHP, 110kg bench and 150kg squat, can I post?

my deadlift is only 140kg
>>
So niggas just not go give a source for pic?
>>
>>35091121
>defend eating shitloads of protein for no reason.
Well, I gave you my reason, it means I'm eating less carbs by default. I like eating maybe 200 carbs or so after my workout on the days I lift. I go VERY low carb on the days I don't lift.

I'm not even saying it has to be protein, you could replace the protein with fat if the calories are proportional.

Telling people 1g protein per lb will lead to gluconeogenesis is silly though.
>>
If you dont have 180kg squat and atleast 200 deadlift dont post ITT

yeah i cut a tendon in my finger which made it pretty much impossible to support the weight in the hook of my finger (sliced it deep with a knife)

with pushing exercises the weight is on the palm so that was fine

4 miles in under 8 minutes per mile, whenever you so choose (i.e., constantly level of fitness and not a freak personal best), is the goal all should aspire to.
>>
>>35090917
That last bit is really hard. I thought my deadlift was going to hit 4 plates before I got any of the other 1/2/3, but now I'm at a 390 lbs deadlift, just hit 3pl8 squat and my bench should be at 2pl8 really soon.
