I'm tired of eating chicken breast, I want to expand my food options. What does /fit/ think of shrimp? I can make cocktails out of them and salads, the possibilities are endless. Let us discuss.
Most people eat chicken cause it's relatively cost and time effective. Otherwise shrimp are pretty good if that doesn't bother you
I have been eating flounder.
192g vs 100g chicken
cal 165 vs 165
Protein 29.3 vs 31
fat 4.6 vs 3.6
While it is not as great cal/protein, it has much more omega-3 and you can eat twice as much if you are cutting.

Yea, equal ratio of:
Onion powder
Paprika
Thyme
Oregano
Garlic powder
Cayenne (you can cut this back if you don't want it spicy)
Black pepper
2 parts salt
Make sure you dry the fish with a paper towel. Coat 1 side in the mixture. Heat up non-stick pan to medium heat, coat with Pam. Put fish spiced side down. Flip once, takes about 2-minutes a side.
Note: Shit is quite spicy, you may want to start with a half a part cayenne.
Optional:
Green onion
Mango
Avocado
Cilantro
Dice small mix together, add cooling salsa on top of fish, serve with rice.

everyone makes chicken out to be such a "clean & lean" meat but its actually pretty high in saturated (bad) fat & cholesterol despite being a pretty dry meat.
Fish is good for your lipid profiles unlike chicken

It really is so easy to make chicken breast delicious. I eat 6 nights a week but use different spices or marinades every time and don't overcook it.

Yeah, fish is ridiculously good when you look at it. Where I live, the go-to cutting contest prep type of meal is usually boiled cod and broccoli, shit has ridiculous macros. Boiled cod has a protein:fat ratio of 56.5:1, and if you ask someone who's been out fishing, might be you'll get to score a 3-4 kg fish for fucking peanuts.
Just to give you an idea, if we're to assume that you only use the filet, that's like 1.8 kg from a 4 kg fish. That's <1700 kcal with 406 g protein and like 8 grams of fat.
Not gonna lie, it does make for boring eating after a while, but I suspect that's just because I'm lazy about changing it up.
