Just started stronglifts 5x5, I see that I am going to squat every single workout day, isnt that going to make me t-rex mode?

Depends on how tall you are desu senpai
>>
>>34954561
No, but it will develop your legs quickly. Just don't neglect your upper body and it's fine.

"T-rex mode" is a myth perpetuated by idiots who think well-developed legs are over-developed due to the simple explanation that they're not used to seeing well-developed legs, because neither they nor anybody they know actually put any serious effort into training their lower body.
The situation becomes even worse when people who don't even lift see other people's progress pictures and don't understand the optical illusion created by externally rotating your hips, and thus they think those guys' legs are much bigger than they actually are.

That's just my opinion of course.

Objectively speaking though, if you're doing SL5x5 and include the recommended accessories (primarily dips and chin-ups) then you're actually doing MORE total work for your upper body than your lower body. Going "t-rex" is thus quite unlikely.

Lastly, it does happen every once in a while due to freaky genetics that somebody experience massive growth in their lower body compared to their upper body. In that case, don't be alarmed. Be pleased that at least half your training is working, and rather than begin fucking up the half that IS working, focus on trying to get the other half to work as well.

TL;DR
Be calm and carry on.

didn't you also notice that you're doing a press and a pull every single workout as well?

This guy is delusional. Hes the type who enjoys squatting every day because its the fastest lift to add weight to and he likes the big numbers because his bench and overhead are probably shit. You will be trex mode and you will look stupid. Either do a split or dont squat every fucking day. How could that possibly be balanced...

I started out with 5x5 and squat strength increase was painfully slow. Deadlift was quite fast. Bench and OHP just exploded as did upper body size. Several years on and can bench 190kg, OHP 120kg (strict) and deadlift 275kg at 88kg body weight, which set several local records in competition. But struggle to squat more than 170kg and legs are still small.

So you'll only go t-rex mode if you have the genes for it. Some like me couldn't put size and strength on them despite years of trying.

>tfw Johnny Bravo mode.

I want to get big legs but I always get fucking dizzy while squatting and I don't want to risk an aneurism like that anon who posted the other day.

Are lex extensions+leg culrs+calf rises enough?
>>
>>34954727
This. Its just that kids these days dont do sports and sit all day. They see their friends doing the same, wearing skinny jeans etc. It just creates an illusion that your legs should be sticks.

Then when someone does sports / trains lower body, it looks like a t-rex to them. Fucking A nerds. But if you want to skip legs then go ahead, it doesn't affect my training.

I'm mostly worried that I'll slip a disc or something, squats seem to give me all those aches and pains even though when I ask for a form check everyone says I look good
>>
>>34956818
Could be skeletal imbalance. I trained with a friend for 5months and at some point he complained about pain in his forearm and wrist while heavy bench pressing with me. Turns out he has a different bone sizes, his Radius is unnaturally bigger than it should be.

Take pain seriously, not everybody is build for lifting.
