My family is rural so that is a traditional midwest-rural Christmas.
Also another thing to note about America is that since it is such a large landmass with such an insanely diverse populace that even though I just described what I view as a traditional thanksgiving, a family in the deep south or in California may have a completely different Christmas.

I tried a few and didn't like it, then it took several years before I tried laphroig (quarter cask, still my absolute favorite).
First impression was that it was just ridicilous. It tastes like ash and it burns like fire. Second sip was the same but now I could make out more flavor in it. Third time, mouth was more used to the burning sensation and I fell in love.
But my taste overall is weird according to most people my age. I also like very bitter foods.

My advice in cheat snacks are flavoured rice crackers. no judging they are tasty as fuck, especially the cheese and bbq flavoured ones. The less processed option is fruit which is basically fast food from nature. take it and go.
In you need protein snacks (like chicken jerky) try torrfisk. You'll probably eat less of it than the chicken.
