The lower your heart rate the more efficient your heart is. Athletes usually have below 60 bpm.
>>

...i should do cardio
>>
>>34916388
Pretty normal breh, if your resting is over 90bpm (assuming no caffeine) you should start getting concerned (moar cardio) and if it's over 100bpm see a doctor.

Low heart rate does not equate to fitness. You might have a heart defect.

If your heart rate is that low and you don't specifically do cardiovascular training and have a low bodyfat then there is almost certainly something wrong with you (regardless of your strength/muscles/CNS conditioning).
>>
>>34919843
>lifting since January
It's meh, you could've progressed better on a more efficient programme.
>>
>>34919893
I don't doubt that. Started going with a gym buddy about a month ago and have already seen some decent progress. Hopefully that trend will continue and I'll git gud

Bench: 175lb 3x8
Squat: Dropped in lieu of quad curl and stiff legged DLs for hams.
OHP: 120lb 3x5
Deadlift: 265lb 1x5

Is my progress slow, do I need to eat more? I've had to deload on ohp and bench once but I broke through the stalling point.

Semi related story

>work as carpenter and general dogsbody for a television company
>working on a set where this weeks episode is set in a hospital
>filmed in an actual hospital that's being redeveloped with all genuine medical kit
>scene is a doctor checking in on a patient (extra) whilst having a conversation about balancing family life or something
>for whatever reason (director is one of those "little details" types ) extra in bed is hooked up to an ECG
>me and set medic are standing at back watching
>medic is staring very intently at machines
>calls cut
>1st AD tries to interrupt gets told to shut up which is something you do if you never want to work in the industry again
>medic clears room except for the extra and me (I have medical background)

Long story short the guy had had a minor heart attack without even realising and was suffering from Atrial Fibrillation as well. Something that would've come back and killed him on the spot one day. And he was saved because some director had an obsessive compulsion to "create realistic atmosphere"

Moral of story, don't ignore warning signs.
