Lads I got in a car accident and hit my knee. The doctors said it wasn't anything serious but I should stay away from heavy lifting for couple of months. So, in 2.5 months my squat went from 210kg to 160kg.

What now?

you'll build that strength up again much faster than you did originally. Lifting is more motor control than muscle size after all.

Just make sure you wear appropriate knee protection during your exercises to ensure you don't inflame the injury.

Also don't start heavy lifting unless you get the go ahead from your doctor/Physio

Anyone got any tips for developing a more consistent deadlift?

I have no confidence when it comes to performing heavy deadlifts. I tend to psych myself out because I don't know if my lower back remains in the right position. I'm a taller guy (6'1") and I have a long torso, I don't feel like I'm achieving a proper hip drive, the movement is always slow.

I'm 18, 178cm, 68 kg. I used to go to the gym when I was 14, 15 and 16 bit I never did deadlifts then because my brother didn't think it was safe.
Now I want to do them but I remember when I used to go to the gym any leg exercises that involved knee movement hurt my knees a lot. Should I steer clear of deadlifts?
Also, what do you think I lift to start with?

I would advise against complimenting her appearance. Making small benign observations about her behavior would be better. "You seem to like coffee a lot," if she's always drinking coffee or whatever. Then if she responds favorably you can chat for a minute and ask her out.

I think people like being observed like that, and it also catches them off guard a bit without being overtly #creepy

I lurk these threads because I'm a fat guy losing a bunch of weight and I'm excited for when I can eat at a surplus and get stronger, but I had a good feel today. I've been struggling with my deadlift and there was a thread yesterday about them with videos that really helped me and I did 2pl8 today with ease when I was struggling before with less weight. I just finished week 6 of SL on a big cal deficit and it feels really cool.

the airpressure can literally mess you up if youre going for a heavy lift at the end of a long training cycle and youre beat up. sure a regular person wont feel sht but powerlifters and old people can have their joint inflammation flare up because of the weather.

I cant babrellrow, I refuse to do barbell rows. I was thinking of replacing barbell rows with chin-ups however I read chin-ups force your shoulders into the wrong position so it enforces forward shoulder.

It started gradually I don't know how I got it. Anyway a year ahead or so and I can't really walk. Also my squat has been stalled at around 145kg-150kgx4-5 because I kept taking periods off due to knee. I got MRI scan, went to orthopedic he said I needed surgery for a meniscus tear on the outside of my knee and explained the details.

Anyone know of the recovery of this and if I can ever do sports again? Any other people experienced a meniscus tear?

I got an echo and picture, while my insurance insisted on MRI. Than radiology department insisted upon me getting a MRI. It sucks because it feels like I lost a little more than a year. Benching hurted the most since the position was really uncomfortable to get in. It put a huge amount of stress on it and it would agravate it badly.
