Counting calories and cutting out sugar worked pretty well for a while a few years back, but our mom was helping us with it and basically forcing us to be accountable. I trimmed down from 240 to the 190's, mid 180's (goal was 175) and he lost a pretty nice chunk as well, but then we went on a cruise vacation so we gained quite a bit of it back (buffets everywhere, and we weren't old/wealthy enough to gamble so really eating was the only thing to do before the night life), and when we got back home we just quit caring. I didn't gain it back that bad but he really let go of the counting. Mom also got a job so that kind of hindered what she could make us do or do for us, and she's the one who told us how many calories we should eat/when/etc so he doesn't know how to do it himself. He accepted it coming from her, the authority figure in our lives, but every time I suggest anything he just takes it as judgement and thinks I'm a jackass and feels attacked. I'm doing what I can, leading by example basically, and I'm in the process of learning how to count calories effectively myself but it's a slow-rolling ball.

If you've never been around the aroma of a buttergolem, stay away. When someone has moved into the "overweight" category of the BMI chart it's really not noticeable through casual interaction. Somewhere around the 30ish BMI with high body fat mark it becomes something irritating, but not something that you can't completely ignore on most of them. After about 35 or 36 it's something that every single ham has. In my younger days, before I hated on them, I just called it "fat people smell". People seemed to know what I was talking about. Normal sized people can tell you about it. There's a lot of BO to the smell, but not normal BO. There's a lot of 'food' to the smell, some in the form of sweated out meals and some in the form of actual 3 or 4 day old stale food (which is why a lot of people think it smells of rotting garbage...it actually does). There's always some amount of swamp ass in the smell, even in the dead of winter. A lot of times it's more than just swamp ass....it's muddy swamp ass. Sometimes you'll catch urine or something that reminds you of a stuffy house (hint, it's mold).
While each chunky dunker's "fat person smell" has a lot of elements in common with others, they're all unique. Bertha might have more of a moldy food under the fupa mixed with a fine mist of piss that it couldn't be bothered to clean up smell, while Fat Tony's primary aroma is composed of nine days worth of different pizza with extra garlic, ball sweat, a bit of wet dog (because it showers by running itself under the water and nothing else), and BO. I will not go into detail about the atrocities they leave in restrooms.

I saw my brother sunday and yesterday, we have not much in common so that was the first time in months. He's gotten so fucking fat, he may be 3 times larger than me it's disgusting. He have always been pretty fat, but now that he's got a job and lives alone it is getting out of hands. The worst thing was the smell, like a week old sweat burried under his multiple rolls of fat, I was so embarassed at the restaurant.
He also wore the same clothes sunday and yesterday, when I asked him about washing it he answered "oh yeah that's my working outfit". Who the fuck wear the same smelly working clothes for several days, and even in the week-end? Don't these people have any decency, or at least a sense of smell?

Most of these new faces are men, it's an engineering firm, a male dominated field
