I am quite fit but new to serious weight and strength training, as a result I do not have access to a pull up bar of any description for the time being. Could I be informed on a substitute exercise/s for pull ups if effective ones exist?

This may sound stupid but because of where I live and the type of trees around a horizontal strong branch isn't an option... thanks for the reply though
if you cannot find a way to do pullups you lack the necessary drive and motivation to make it.

Get a pullup bar that goes into a doorframe. They aren't expensive.

Am I seeing this wrong or is scooby not doing full ROM? I don't mean when he's not pulling up all the way because there is no space, but he doesn't seem to go all the way down between reps?
Find a tree. But you can't find a door to put one on ? I have an iron gym one and it works great.

You could do lat pulldowns with supnated grip bent over barbell row superset, will hit the arms and pretty much most upper back the same as pull ups.
