well fitting jeans are the staple of your wardrobe. first get a pair in indigo, then a pair in black, then a pair in a lighter wash for variety. you want the following:
regular rise
slim fit (fit through the waist, hips, ass, crotch is most important because you can just get a tailor to taper the legs in order to slim them down)
proper inseam length (get them hemmed)
little bit of stretch (1-2% elastane)
not raw
no distressing or fading
buy some t-shirts. short-sleeve, crew neck, 100% cotton. buy from hanes, american apparel, uniqlo, whatever you want. buy some in white, black and grey, add some green or blue for variety. the most important thing is that it fits you in the shoulders, the rest is pretty inconsequential.
buy some basic casual shoes e.g. tennis shoes, sneakers, trainers, derbies, chukkas, boots. converse, adidas, clarks, dr. marten and such are all fine, don't cheap out too much, don't buy anything bright or overbranded. i like dr. marten steeds and german army trainers + derivatives
