I was thinking about this, now that vintage is mainstream from 20's to 90's what is the next step as we don't have any more modern era fashion to be inspired from.
Will the designers start using older fashion like Renaissance or French kings era with white wigs etc?
Or are we going full sci fi like in many movies with things like minimalist simple clothing?

the only consistent thing over decades is how clothes once considered underwear, pajamas, something you'd only wear loafing about in the house get integrated into regular outfits. t-shirts were once underwear to give an old example. joggers/track pants are the latest example.
it works in formal wear as well. formal once meant coat tails, tuxedos, and such, but now formal can be just a black suit.
outside of that, hard to say anything for sure. designers already draw from any time period and place on earth back to ancient greece. whether or not what they put out turns into a trend is another thing

If Deus Ex 2 had polygonal fits, it's because the game is so old that the character models had blatant polygons jutting out.
The style itself was pretty basic with the occasional 2000s scifi leather catsuit.
